Meet the Team is a recurring series on the PowerReviews blog, allowing you to get to know the people behind our success.
This week, we chatted with Todd Caponi, our Senior Vice President of Sales, to learn what he does at PowerReviews, why he loves his job, and what it takes for someone to be successful at PowerReviews (did we mention he’s hiring?).
What are your areas of responsibility at PowerReviews?
My overall responsibility is in building and maximizing the revenue capacity of the sales organization. So, lots of focus on building the team, focusing their efforts and energy, driving the fundamentals, engaging with clients, and keeping the fun front and center.
Where were you before joining PowerReviews?
I held various sales leadership roles with ExactTarget, now known as the Salesforce.com Marketing Cloud, following their $2.5B acquisition. Prior to that, I ran worldwide sales for a couple of other SaaS technology companies, and I’m also the former owner and operator of a sales training and consulting company.
What’s your favorite part about working at PowerReviews?
My favorite thing about PowerReviews is its “culture first” attitude. Culture wins…before we talk about a job candidate’s experience, we talk about their culture fit. We spend so much time with the people we work with, it’s fantastic to be around such great people all day…pulling for each other, working as a team, and having fun.
What does it take for someone to be successful at PowerReviews
On my team, the passion for endless learning best equates to success. Our focus is around making our clients smarter about their business, not ours. That approach requires that an individual wants to develop an expertise not only in what we do and how we do it, but even more importantly, an expertise around each client they engage with.
What would you tell someone thinking about joining PowerReviews?
There’s something different about PowerReviews…it doesn’t come along all that often. It won’t always be perfect. Hyper-growth companies like ours have growing pains. But if you’re ready for a ride, where you’ll learn at a pace you potentially never have before, where your co-workers will be like your extended family (without all the arguing…or is that just mine?), and a technology you can be proud of, you won’t regret making the PowerReviews decision.
What’s a hidden talent you have that people might not know about?
I can juggle while also riding a unicycle.
