We are seeking an articulate, make-it-happen Senior Integration Engineer to help us deliver social shopping solutions to retailers and brands. PowerReviews creates trusted experiences for shoppers through user-generated content and community interaction that leverages the surprising "social revolution" in retailing and marketing. We serve consumers both directly, through our shopping research portal, Buzzillions.com, and through retailers and brands, such as REI, ToysRUs, Staples, Trek, Brookstone, Walgreens, Consumer Reports, and many more.
As our Senior Integration Engineer, you will be responsible for integrating our application and tools into our clients' web sites. In this role, you will own the entire process end-to-end, including defining client requirements and documenting specifications; designing, modifying, and building the tools necessary to support integration efforts; high-level training and testing; managing process and implementation documentation; and assisting clients as needed in their efforts. Additionally, you will support our sales efforts by leading technical discussions and documenting requirements with prospects.
We are looking for a motivated individual who is great at conveying technical ideas in simple terms, and who is interested in helping us build relationships with our clients. This role encompasses a mix of duties ranging from technical discussions and demos to technical implementation work involving Javascript, CSS, and XML. Experience developing in Java preferred. Minimal travel may be required.
Responsibilities
- Participate in technical discussions with prospects during the sales process
- Lead clients through the integration process via phone, WebEx, and if necessary, in person (some travel may be necessary)
- Work with clients to install software, including modifying or updating existing integration documentation, procedures and software
- Design methods and develop tools and helper applications (such as XML verification scripts and data parsing scripts) to streamline the integration process
- Build sample code snippets in JSP, ASP, Perl, Python, etc as needed for clients
- Maintain integration process documentation
- Lead clients through the deployment of software updates and functionality enhancements
- Solicit feedback from clients and gather suggestions and new requirements for the product development team to enhance the overall product offering
Requirements
The "standard stuff" ...- Demonstrated ability in managing complex, large client integrations with custom requirements
- 5+ years of software integration experience
- Proven experience working with both business and technical client contacts and the ability to understand both business and technical requirements
- Experience explaining technical integration details to non-technical client management
- Working SQL knowledge
- Proficiency with HTML, Javascript, and CSS
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
The "nice-to-have stuff" ...
- Ability to lead and direct thoughtful technical discussions with clients' senior IT staff
- Experience with Java/JSP development using an IDE like IntelliJ or Eclipse
