We fully evaluated PowerReview's major competitor, and we found that they were both great solutions but both the value of and the people behind the product were so strong with PowerReviews that it quickly emerged as the obvious choice. We started with PowerReviews in January of 2008, and now, almost 4 years later, I count them among the best technology partners Quidsi has ever worked with.

We became a customer so early there weren't other viable options outside of building.

My advice today? Evaluate a build option thoroughly and consider the lack of functionality across vendors in the core review product. WGo to Amazon and look at how they use reviews.

Obvious features that are not being addressed by the current vendor options: Edit a review, Search Reviews, Review Super Pages, Comment on a Review, Apply a Review to a specific size or color, Permalink to a review.

Why is Amazon so far ahead? A war is being waged over who gets to drill the moon (social). Meanwhile, Amazon's in North Dakota making money.

PowerReviews has strong technical capabilities and good people. They have demonstrated an ability to develop smart win-win-win solutions. If they can get back to that core brand promise, I think we'll see big things.

  • Our experience implementing the services of and working with PowerReviews has been a breeze. My department is responsible for over 30 websites, and when some new website request for implementing reviews hits my desk, I don't blink an eye at the effort we spend to get PowerReviews up and running, with a customized CSS to match their site.

As an early client of PowerReviews, we were fortunate to partner up and integrate feeds to our network of independent bicycle retailers. It was an opportunity to expand our review content that we couldn't turn down. The people make the the service, and the people at PowerReviews share the same philosophy towards their customers as Trek shares towards our customers.

The reason we chose PR was because of price, we came from BV. We like to pay for products not services (marketing coaches, etc). When we made the switch, PR was also WAY more progressive in how they looked at reviews and we appreciate that.
