We sat down with Jennifer Voight, our Regional Sales Director, to chat about how PowerReviews has grown, why it’s important to give back to the community, and how she aspires to share the stage with Justin Timberlake.
How long have you been at PowerReviews?
I celebrated my four year work anniversary this past March. I was part of Viewpoints.com for a little over a year before we acquired and relaunched PowerReviews. I’ve been part of the PowerReviews family for three years – it has been quite the ride!
What did you do before working with PowerReviews?
I’ve been in sales for a while, but I was primarily in advertising working with companies and their media agency partners.
Since you’ve been with PowerReviews quite a while, how has the company changed over the years?
PowerReviews has grown tremendously. I’m constantly impressed at the level of talent that has joined, and continues to join, our team. Everyone is kind, collaborative, creative, and incredibly smart.
What’s the best part of our new office at 1 N Dearborn?
This is my 4th office with PowerReviews. Our CEO Matt Moog is very focused on creating a work environment where people can thrive and enjoy the work they’re doing. I didn’t think the work environment could get any better, but it has!
I’m a huge fan of the sunlight our new office gets around the clock and our sit/stand desks. I may be the sit/stand desks’ #1 fan.
What’s it like being a PowerReviews Parent?
I’ve made a conscious decision to involve my kids in my career; it’s important they understand what I do when I’m not with them. On the flipside, being a mom is my #1 priority and PowerReviews is very respectful of that fact. And having the advice and guidance of other PowerReviews parents is invaluable.
Plus, all my kids agree that I have a cooler office than their Dad!
Being on the Enterprise Team, you have the opportunity to work with some of the biggest brands and retailers. What’s that like?
I’m grateful for the opportunity to strategize and partner with extremely passionate, smart, and creative clients. Watching the strategy we’ve discussed and developed come to life is extremely rewarding. There isn’t a day that goes by where I’m not learning something new or being challenged.
You help lead the PowerReviews PowerGives initiative. Why do you think it’s important for a business to give back to their local community?
I believe when colleagues come together and are giving of their time, efforts, or even money – it enhances the way we all collaborate together. This is why I’m part of our PowerGives team.
We all have something we can give back to our community and I’m actively trying to make it easy for anyone at PowerReviews to participate in philanthropic events and share different organizations they’re involved in. We’ve learned about some amazing organizations – Ronald McDonald House of Lurie Children’s Hospital, Team Rubicon, Common Threads, and more!
What is one thing that people in the office don’t know about you?
I think I’m pretty open about my quirks. What people might not know is that I’ve always dreamt of being one of Justin Timberlake’s backup dancers, and I likely won’t ever let that dream go. I openly refer to him as my celebrity husband.
