Modern consumers are never far from their phones. So it’s not surprising that shoppers often pull out their phones as they navigate the aisles of the grocery store.

The most common way in-store grocery shoppers use their phones is to find or redeem coupons; 73% do so. Reading product ratings and reviews (58%) and searching for competitor prices (56%) are also high on the list.

Key Takeaway

In-store Grocery Shoppers Depend on Their Mobile Phones

Consumers shopping for groceries in brick-and-mortar stores often reach for their phones to help them shop. A key reason they do so is to access information about the products they’re considering – including discounts, ratings and reviews, and pricing.

It’s important to ensure shoppers can easily find the information they’re looking for when they’re researching in a brick-and-mortar store. Remember: this information must be easy to find and consume on a mobile device.
